Dr.LUKE'S iDLE UTTERANCE

今朝のジョッギングで頭に飛来したイメージは、「茹でカエル」だ。カエルをいきなり熱湯に入れると暴れるが、水に入れて徐々に暖めると心地よく逝ってしまう。今、社会もキリスト教界もこのカエルの運命を辿りつつある。例えば現在、地球や宇宙や、社会や、教界に起きていることを、いきなり80年代の私たちが見たら、いかなる反応をしたであろうか。慣らされている私たちはほとんど無反応、無感覚だ。ここまま心地よく逝ってしまうのだろう。

・・・と言ったことを考えていたら、ちょうど同じことを主張する記事があった。題して

すでに神は天からも地からも、諸々の徴を送られている。しかし鈍くされた人類は反応しない。この記事ではWW2時代のドイツのユダヤ人の例を挙げている。彼らはあまりにも平穏にドイツ化されていたため、まさか自分たちが迫害を受けるとは思えなかったのだ。10万人のユダヤ人はドイツを離れたが、特に富裕層の45万人はそのまま残っていた。そして彼らが想像した以上の速さで事態は悪化したのだった。

人の子が来るのは、ちょうど、ノアの日のようだからです。洪水前の日々は、ノアが箱舟にはいるその日まで、人々は、飲んだり、食べたり、めとったり、とついだりしていました。そして、洪水が来てすべての物をさらってしまうまで、彼らはわからなかったのです。人の子が来るのも、そのとおりです。

ユダヤ人の歴史は私たちの歴史。日常に埋もれて、基準点がずれてしまう危険（=Normalcy Bias）。それは絵本として、私たちに提示されている。そこから大いに学ぶべきなのだろう。

タイトルは「何も起きていないんだから、心配するな」と言う逆説的意味。そう、皆さん、何も思い煩うことはないんですよ！
