Rick Warren、モスレムを批判する者はクリスチャンではありえないと。

• Rick Warren claims Islam-critics are “non Christians”

QUESTION: Why do you think people who call themselves Christians sometimes say the most hateful things about Muslims?

WARREN: Well, some of those folks probably aren’t really Christians. 1 John 4:20 says, “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.” And 1 John 2:9 says “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.” I am not allowed by Jesus to hate anyone. Our culture has accepted two huge lies: The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

しかしこちの声明文を読むと、一応、イエスのみが救いへの道であり、自分はクリスラムを提唱してなどはいないと主張している。

どうも表向きはクリスチャンの神とモスレムの神は明確に異なると言いながら、モスレムを批判する者は元よりクリスチャンではないと宣言するあたり、彼自身の信仰が乖離している印象を受ける次第だ。

こちらはHal Lindseyによるイスラムの批判。イスラムは平和の宗教か?　先のコーランを焼いた事件に関してオバマが謝罪したことを受けて、オバマがコーランの権威に服しているとし、その不合理性を指摘している。

追記：Warrenはそのベストセラー"Perpose Driven"においてこう書いているそうだ：

If you want Jesus to come back sooner, focus on fulfilling your mission, not figuring out prophecy." He then goes on to characterize prophecy as a "distraction" and says that anyone who lets himself get involved in distractions like studying prophecy "is not fit for the kingdom of God.

つまり、自分のミッションを達成することに注力すべきであり、預言などは破壊的なものであり、それに関わったりしてはならないと。要するに彼の意識は、神のご計画の成就ではなく、自分の人生の達成だ最優先なのだ。まさにセルフ教の極地である。このようなものを無批判に取り込むニッポンキリスト教の霊的識別力の欠如はすでに絶望的ではある。
