霊的に弱体化するクリスチャンvs.霊的に妥協しないモスレム
英国キリスト教では「十戒」の現代バージョンが、600以上の教会で採用され出している。ニューバージョンでは、昨年の暴動から学んで、"manage your anger"、"know God"、"catch your breath"なる諸点を考慮。各戒めを現代的価値観に適合させるべく表現し直したそうだ。
たとえば-
・"thou shalt not steal" → "prosper with a clear conscience"
「盗むなかれ」→「明朗な良心で繁栄せよ」
・"thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain"→ "take God seriously"
「主の名をみだりに唱えるなかれ」→「神を真剣にとらえよ」
・"thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's"→"find contentment"
「隣人の物や妻や僕や家畜を貪るなかれ」→「足るを知れ」
・"Thou shalt not commit adultery"→ "affair-proof your relationships"
「姦淫することなかれ」→「不倫関係を持つな」
・"honour thy father and thy mother" →"keep the peace with your parents"
「父と母を敬え」→「両親と平和を維持せよ(折り合いをつけよ的意味)」
